Sad Side of Suburbia

Gregory Crewdson's photographs are stunning and unsettling. They remind me of the film American Beauty. Broken people in quiet towns.

David Lynch comes to mind. A bit of fear and madness. Crewdson takes great care in creating these photographs, shooting them just like film, with with huge sets and crews, actors & elaborate lighting.

These images fit my mood. I'm sick with a cold.

His works are available at Guy Hepner and Luhring Augustine.

wow. it isn't often that an image moves me, it has to be amazing to really grab me.

i've just been grabbed, and fondled a bit. these are haunting. they have almost a surreal quality about them, like "can this really exisit somewhere?" and if it does, why haven't I seen it with these eyes before?

excellent, and feel better cupcake!

xo,

I think the first photo is a picture of my mom's dining area. I am kidding of course, but it does looks a lot like the dining room I grew up eating in. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
