Swift Finds

I just discovered the most darling boutique that sells both vintage and new clothing.

It's in Burbank and it's called Swift.

Even though it's absolutely tiny, I spent about an hour there, browsing the racks of clothing, the vintage purses, earrings and necklaces old and new. They have vintage shoes too, but I get turned off by the thought of wearing someone's old shoes.

The store's collection is edited nicely, and the sales tags have little notes, recommending what to wear with a blousy top or tank.

It's just what I need, because I'm not the type to go to a huge vintage clothing store and sift through big bins and endless racks of "duds."

Brazilian Girls

It's absolutely steamy right now in El Lay. Way too hot & humid. What's going on here? I feel like I'm right back in the ATL... or Hawaii... or anywhere that gets humidity.

So since it's feeling tropical, let's talk about a band I love, Brazilian Girls. When I close my eyes I (almost) feel like I'm on vacation. Not sitting on a beach, but getting ready to go out.
If you're in LA, they're playing the Hollywood Bowl Aug. 26th.

Design Amsterdam

I just love this room. It puts me in the mood for a party. I love all of the different styles of seating. I can imagine a dozen people milling about, either all interacting or having private conversations. What a fun room.
I found this at www.designws.com

Venini, Vidi, Vici

I just won this beautiful treasure on Ebay. I've been in love with these Italian 60's chandeliers forever, they're normally pretty pricey. I can't wait to hang it in our guest bedroom.
What an adventure I've had with our guest bedroom. I bought a chandelier at Urban Outfitters but someone stole it off our front porch. When we discovered someone else had it... we also learned the company discontinued the chandelier. So we've been looking for a runner-up ever since.
I'll say, I'm glad for happy accidents, or would this be turning lemons into lemonade? Whatever. I like this one better. :)
My only concern is that all the glass tubes make it in one piece from Italy....

Doe San Francisco

I discovered these beautiful things at www.doe-sf.com
Sadly, most of them are sold out at the moment, but I'll check back.
I don't normally wear hair pins, but these pins are so beautiful, I'd be inspired to wear my hair up.
Plus, my obsession with owls is infinite.
