Mirror, Mirror

I swear I have a bit of ESP today. This is the perfect companion to my last post. These photos are formed from Sixties-era ads.

Photographer Nicole Belle found these negatives at a thrift store in LA, depicting young women and men modeling.

She combined individual frames of the photo shoots to create a doubling, tripling, or quadrupling of the figures.

I won't wax poetic about their meaning, but using a quote from the artist: the young subjects are “transformed, from passive objects of the photographer’s gaze to a collective force unto themselves.”

Anyway, her art opening is Saturday in Silver Lake.
I wish I could go. I'll be wine tasting! I think... :)
