Destination: Dresden

This photo is from 1940, the year the Dresden Room opened in Los Feliz. That's bartender Ray Buhen. He created the Blood & Sand for customer Tyrone Power, who starred in the bullfighting film. Blood and Sand originally starred the slice of perfection Rudolph Valentino. The bar still looks the same.

Here's a handful of shots from last night. It was so dim - it's a lounge after all - that most of the photos didn't turn out.

Marty & Elayne were playing last night. The lounge act has been performing there for decades. They performed at The Dresden in the film Swingers, singing their own lounge version of Stayin' Alive.

I would like to comment, but I really don't know what to say. The first photo left me speechless :)

is it the old school bar? have you been there? or just the throwback feel...

While you look lovely, my dear, I can't say the same for every other person pictured at that bar. Horrible.

And, I believe Richard was referring to your legs, love. Second picture. At least, that's what I hope he was referring to.
