Vintage Vogue Covers

One of my guilty pleasures is looking at vintage magazines. I recently found Vogue's archive of covers.
This first one is March, 1970.

April, 1940 below (!)
January 1950.
June 1950.

The last photo is from 1974. Anjelica Huston and Manolo Blahnik in the South of France.

Old is the new old-new...what happened to women who would walk over the jacket that you laid down so they could cross a puddle...they're all in old magazines.

I like the last cover the best. I love the gents suit, scenery, and the lovely ladies dress. I also like how his ascot is a mess and hanging loosely from his collar. Very romantic photo, very vogue!

I like the first photo best. She looks like she could be in one of today's magazines!

P - men don't lay their jackets down anymore. Most ladies enjoy the door opened for them, the chair pulled out for them, etc.

richard - i didn't even notice the ascot. of course. you are right about the prep influence i guess... i was entranced by anjelica houston. fell in love when she was in the life aquatic.

anon - doesn't she look kinda heidi glam? auf wiedersehen, goodbye.
