My $3,000 Shoes

When I first saw Madonna in these Louis Vuitton ads, her shoes screamed at me!

BUY ME!
The shoe below promised to give me satisfaction in exchange for $3,000.

So I gave up. This was March. In September, I was drawn into Steve Madden when I spied a sale wheel.
Spin the wheel, get between 10-90% off.
I spied a pair of shoes priced around $100 that kinda resembled the shoes above, spun the wheel & scored 20% off.
I sauntered out with a guilt-free pair of kicks that to wear to work & yes, they are already banged up.

The incredibly talented (and yes folks, he is that nice in person!) Nick Verreos. We did a fashion segment for GDLA the other day & I stole this pic from his beautiful website.

Living the LV High Life

I am completely charmed by this car. How can you not get a chuckle? This ‘89 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra Louis Vuitton Limited Edition was decorated and is driven by Steve LaNasa who lives here in LA.

Here's the story behind his ride in his own words.

This is my car. It all started when the hippie who lived in the apartment behind my house lost his car. As in misplaced. When the cops showed up three weeks later to inform him that it was parked on the next block over, he graciously sold it to me for the low, low price of 250 bucks, having bought a new car in the interim. I promptly scraped off the 800 bumper stickers and went to work. First, I took it to Earl Scheib and had it given a heavy coat of "Chocolate Glitter." Then I painted the trim, wheel holes, the dash, steering wheel, and all the other interior with a heavy coat of gold enamel. After that, I spent a week in the garage stenciling the logos on with gold spray paint and gold leaf. A quick top-coat at Earl’s and I was good to go. So far, it’s been a really bad influence on me…whenever people take my picture in it, I just can’t seen to keep my finger out of my nose. And when folks pull up next to me at the stoplight and start revving their engines, I just want to floor it. And sometimes I do.
Happy week people. I'm still incredibly jetlagged but I'll get back on the blogging bus soon.
I can't remember where I found his quote!

Let's Get Physical

One friend quotes me as saying something I can't recall, yet I still believe I said it. As he discussed sports, I said, "I don't sweat."

Not that I don't physically, I just don't prefer to. I hate working out! I like to dance, but it's not fun when it's at the gym and presented like jazzercise. What a drag. What I like to do is walk on the treadmill while talking on the phone or listening to music, counting down the minutes anxiously.

This gym set might totally inspire me to get my workout on. My favorite piece is the headband. It seems so Wes Anderson - maybe a bit loud - but his brother created the sweet drawings on the coolest set of luggage designed by Marc Jacobs. It was featured in The Darjeeling Limited.

The Darjeeling Limited

The Darjeeling Limited may not be my favorite film by Wes Anderson, but it's packed with style. Forget product placement with soda and chips.. I'm all about fashion lines.

Louis Vuitton is all over the movie - check out the brothers' custom suits and their shoes. If you saw the film, Owen Wilson's character freaks out after a child steals one of his custom $10,000 shoes.

At the top of my Christmas wish list? The numbered Louis Vuitton luggage. Each case had small animal drawings created by Wes's brother and illustrator - Eric Anderson.

I prefer it to the Murakami line that's getting so much attention!

The original set was auctioned off in NY a couple of months ago. Who knows what ungodly price the set went for. LV, please come out with a line!
By the way - take a peek at my last post. Can you see how my hallway is influenced by the family home hallway in The Royal Tennenbaums and the vivid colors of Life Aquatic? I'm obsessed!
