Playtime at the Parker Palm Springs

I know I'm not the only one who had a Tivo season pass for The Parker on Bravo. Aside from the crazy antics, I've always wanted to see the lemonade stand, Mister Parker's, the pool & overall hotel designed by Jonathan Adler.
So now I am headed to Palm Springs in a couple of days for a little R&R. I just booked a room at the Parker & booked dinner reservations at Mister Parker's. I'll report back after I go.
Two trips in one month? Too much fun!
I think I may have visited The Parker when it was the Givenchy Resort & Spa. I'll have to wait and see.

Just Like Jonathan's Mirror

With the grey skies outside, this sunburst is brightening my day. It's on Ebay, a tri-level sunburst sculpture that may or may not be an authentic C. Jere. Who cares, it's gorgeous.

Check out this mirror sold by Jonathan Adler. He recently debuted a line of authentic C. Jere sculptures that are much more expensive. This one goes for $1,100! I prefer the ebay one that's currently less than $100.

I don't have a place to put it, but maybe someone else does!

Check out the listing here.

Oh Those Obelisks

See the great obelisks? They're lucite with a nickel base from the 70's. They even light up! I've eyed them at Dragonette on La Cienega for some time. They are a bit expensive, ok ridiculously expensive at $7,500. Isn't Jonathan Adler's own version cute? It's more reasonable at $175 each.

I have no place to put them, but they are great aren't they?

If you cruise www.jonathanadler.com he has a ton of great new stuff & he always has great small gifts too.

Dazzling dining room chairs

My dining room chairs are here! I ordered four chairs like the one you see here and two armchairs. They're from Empiric on Beverly.

It took me months to find chairs that

1. I actually wanted

2. I could afford.

I hunted for the perfect chairs like mothers shop for schools. I started off with Jonathan Adler's chippendale chairs, which I was set to buy, but then he stopped making the armchairs! I'm a leaner. I need armchairs, so I resumed my search.

I happened across a great set of Billy Haines chairs at Downtown (on La Cienega), but they were like $8000 for the set, so I sat in them for a moment - just to enjoy sitting in one of his divine creations - and kept searching.

I was heading to the Grove with my husband one afternoon to catch a film, and we spotted Empiric. We'd never heard of it, but the store rocks! They have vintage & new stuff. When I saw these chairs I about died, because they're the same price as the chairs were at Adler's, plus the awesome staff found out they could make an armchair version.
By the way, here's the original chair below.
