Mid-Century Holiday Home

This mid-century home is one of the highlights of my holiday. It sits on Ocean Avenue in Long Beach. The house is insanely perfect year-round, but this is the time of year it really shines. The tree is really the centerpiece. It's a large aluminum tannenbaum (been waiting to use that one) with two color wheels lighting the tree in a rainbow of colors. Blue and green light strings frame the home, and outdoor lights highlight the home's great architecture.

This is the only home on the street like this. It's surrounded by McMansions. It's the little house that could.

Mid-Century Modern Gingerbread House

This isn't your grandmother's gingerbread house, complete with garage & driveway, rock garden, and low-slung roof. This is my kind of gingerbread house. Love the California touches like palm trees. It's edible of course.

I live in a 70's modern home, but this is as close as it gets.

Thanks Red Envelope.

I also like this holiday card from MoMA.
