Crafty Earrings

My daily candy is so fun. I love reading about all of the designer sample sales that sound like great bargains, but I'm usually working at those times. Plus I imagine the frenzy of hundreds of trying on clothes in a frenzy and then it's like no thank you!

The DC delivered a cute pair of crocheted earrings from http://www.luvasis.com/. If you saw my post about http://www.knittaplease.com/, you realize I have a soft spot for (some) crochet. I'm not into crafts very much, but I love when it looks elegant or is displayed as art, like artist Knitta, Please.
The gold version of these earrings looks as pretty as real gold too, but much cheaper than the real thing at $48.

Colander Cups

These are cute, but I'm not sure if they're as functional as I hope they are.

I love the cups, because I like to wash strawberries or blueberries and toss them in a bowl. I'll bet the water that normally collects in the bottom of the bowl would just drain into the saucer. I love that!

I can't tell if the plate is filled with holes though. I would love it if the plate just has indentations and not holes to collect the bit of water.

Anyway, I saw these on H&G. Here's her website http://www.kikiceramics.com/

Log Art

I have such a soft spot for art on natural materials. This is from Species by the Thousands. I wish there was a price... I originally saw these on design*sponge.

Party lights

I have a birthday coming up, & my lovely husband is throwing a party for me. Don't you just love parties? I think I'm still living my 22nd birthday party, which was a 60's lounge party. I love old Hollywood style.
My only concern is our backyard. It's a diamond in the rough - extremely rough. The only safe spot is the deck outside our living room.

It needs some dressing up to match the living room, which is being overhauled at the moment - by the talented team Ron Woodson & Jaime Rummerfield.

I think some party lights do the trick. These photos are inspiring me... from Martha Stewart & Domino.

Au Revoir Simone

I love this band Au Revoir Simone.
Their name is inspired by "Pee Wee's Big Adventure." Remember when Pee Wee fell in love with Simone & they said goodbye to one another? Au revoir Pee Wee.... Au revoir Simone!
I've been loving so many British artists lately, I'm glad Brooklyn's stepping up. Plus I have a special spot in my heart for female artists.

I happen to prefer their song "Stars," but it's not on youtube, so click here for their video, Fallen Snow.

DVF 4 summer

Sorry about the lag in posts. I've been busy, then away. I spent a week on the water and came home rested with a great tan, which of course meant a clothing shopping spree for my new look.

I know tans are unhealthy, but this California girl is happy to have a break from her self tanner and is enjoying sporting the real thing (once in a while).

So on my shop day, I perused several boutiques, but I ended up most contented at my fave store - DVF.

Her prints are so distinct I can't wear them every single day like a simple white tank, but I love the feeling I get wearing her dresses.

Wow windows

I discovered this in my Daily Candy. It's window film from puremodern.com that can add much-needed privacy if your window faces a neighbor, or if you'd just like to punch up the style on a ho-hum window.
This may solve my bathroom dilemma.
I'm thinking of installing a larger window in my bathroom to let it more light. The only issue is that the window is in the shower and faces the street. Wouldn't this be great?
I just have visions of the opening credits of a James Bond film. I hope that it doesn't reveal silhouettes. That would not be a good thing. We don't need to stop traffic for goodness sakes. :)
