Who Wants Waffles?

I took this photo last November. It was one of the best waffles I've had in my life and I made it! I'm still a bit in shock to be honest with you.
If you like pumpkin bread or muffins, you need to buy this.
I know it's about to hit the shelves again at Williams Sonoma. It's called Spiced Pecan Pumpkin Waffle and Pancake mix.
I really wish I could flip pancakes. Isn't that the coolest trick?

Cleaning Epiphanies

Cleaning involves triumphs and tragedies. I almost lost the battle with our tree. The makers of artificial trees must package them in tiny boxes on purpose. They expect you to get so fed up trying to fit it back into the box, you'll cry uncle & toss it. How else would they stay in business? I plan on keeping my tree forever.
However, if Robert hadn't been here, it would be in the trash. After a few complaints, elbow grease, duct tape & a cryptic announcement that, "After this, I'm done for the day," he managed to get it back in & haul it to the garage.
Below is a true triumph.

Don't you love when you discover things while cleaning? While rummaging through our guest room closet I discovered invitation samples from Wedding Tulle. I collected them while planning my wedding (4 years ago) & the designs are still very current.

The stitching detail is even more beautiful in person.

Bree also blogs & featured this cake topper from Ann Wood Handmade and the chocolate mice truffles from William Sonoma below.

I want to get married again!

Turkey Tureen

I am going to celebrate Thanksgiving at home for the first time since 1999. I just learned this great news & I'm a bit stunned and unbelievably happy!

I love Thanksgiving, but I always have to work holidays, because when you're in the media, that's what you have to do.

Last year, I did a story on a military family celebrating Thanksgiving & they left a seat open at their table for their soldier who was in Iraq. They even placed all of his favorite foods on the plate. That was the best part of the day, but later, when it was time to eat, all of the restaurants were closed except for Del Taco (which I don't like) so I had a watery burrito.

I just got lucky this year. Who knows if it will happen again, so I'm going big, baby.

I want with this Turkey Tureen from Williams-Sonoma. It's Amber glass & would be great holding my cranberry sauce. Straight from the can!

I am all about homemade for (most of) the rest of the meal. I'll blog on that later.
